Paris Hilton set to keep $2 million engagement ring from ex Chris Zylka
Paris Hilton plans to keep the $2 million (£1.5 million), 20-carat engagement ring she received from her former fiance Chris Zylka. The 37 year old sat down for an interview on Jenny McCarthy's Sirius XM show and revealed she has no intention of giving the stunning piece of jewellery back to The Leftovers actor. The former reality star claimed that by simply wearing the sparkler, which was crafted by designer Michael Greene of Greene & Co., she had given the brand a priceless amount of publicity, seemingly referencing the jeweller's various Instagram posts about the ring. "The person who we got it from got millions and millions of dollars of free publicity (sic)," Hilton shared. "I love how social media has basically become a new form of money. It's pretty sick (great)." After McCarthy asked, "So you got to keep the ring?", Hilton responded, "Yes," adding, "Diamonds are a girl's best friend." Zylka has yet to comment on her claim. In an interview with The Knot in January (18), Greene, who is a friend of the Hilton family, explained the design was inspired by her mother Kathy Hilton's own ring. "He's (Zylka) seen Paris admiring her mother's ring and trying it on at different times during dinner," Greene shared. "And he just really watched the way she just loved that ring. That's why we came up with the shape." Zylka presented the heiress with the stunning ring when he proposed at the end of 2017 during a New Year's vacation in Aspen, Colorado. News that the couple had parted ways made headlines in November (18), with Hilton later confessing she had rushed into the romance too quickly. "I'm doing really good, I'm just really having my me time," she told U.S. show The Talk weeks after the break-up. "I just feel that when I fall in love, I fall in love fast and hard and it was this whirlwind romance, and I've always been obsessed with Disney stories and love stories and I thought it was going to be my happy ending, and I just realised after time that it wasn't the right decision." Paris was previously engaged to fashion model Jason Shaw and Greek shipping heir Paris Latsis.
