REPORT: Red Sox Waiting to See What Craig Kimbrel Decides Before Making Bullpen Moves
The Boston Red Sox may have just won the World Series, but they still have a busy offseason ahead.
One of the biggest things on their radar this offseason is seeing what relief pitcher Craig Kimbrel will do with his free agency. And it looks like the Sox are willing to wait it out and see his decision before they shakeup their bullpen:
There's no doubt that Kimbrel is the best relief pitcher on the MLB free agent market right now, but there hasn't been any huge demand for him just yet.
The Red Sox are hoping it remains that way, so they can bring him back for another go. Kimbrel was outstanding for Boston, as he helped them clinch the World Series, and they absolutely want him to come back.
The only problem with Kimbrel is his asking price for a new contract, which is reported to be over $100 million. That's one hefty price to pay.
We'll have to wait and see how Kimbrel does as he tests the market, but until he makes a decision, don't expect the Red Sox to add a new reliever just yet.
