Peak donates bus For Para-powerlifting tourney
A major sponsor of the Lagos 2019 International Para-powerlifting competition, Friesland Campina, makers of Peak Milk, has finalised plans to donate a bus for the competition.
According to Maureen Ifada, Marketing Manager, Peak, the donation of a wheelchair accessible van with automated lifts and other features to ensure safety of the Para-powerlifting athletes, is part of a wide range of sponsorship packages provided by the Peak brand to boost the productivity of Para-powerlifting athletes, who in recent years, have brought glory to the country in major international competitions, including the Paralympic Games.
“We remain committed to assisting the Para-powerlifting athletes in whatever way we can as a brand. We have inspired Nigerians with their story, especially at the Paralympics, and recently we provided an ultra-modern wheelchair accessible gym at the National Stadium, Lagos, which was completely renovated for the first time since 1972,” Ifada said.
One of the major highpoints leading to the International Para-powerlifting competition, which Nigeria is hosting for the first time, will be a media event on Wednesday at the Oriental Hotel, Lekki, Lagos.
