told you so 'I tried, Arsenal fans': Piers Morgan reminds Gunners about 2015 Klopp comments

When Piers Morgan spoke to talkSPORT in 2015 , he made a plea to the Arsenal board: Sack Arsene Wenger and get Jurgen Klopp.

The Good Morning Britain presenter and prolific Twit..terer warned the Gunners to move quickly to secure the German’s signature or risk losing out to Liverpool.

Klopp was available at the time, having left Borussia Dortmund earlier that year, and Piers was convinced he would be a huge success in the Premier League.

What Piers Morgan said in September 2015 on talkSPORT “Firstly, Jurgen Klopp is available. Secondly, we understand he is itching to get back in the game. Thirdly, Liverpool are likely to part company with Brendan Rodgers and he might be tempted by a club of that stature. “If you look at what Jurgen Klopp did at Dortmund, he completely transformed that team from a very mediocre German side into one that beat Bayern Munich to the Bundesliga twice. “This is a guy who is twenty years younger than Wenger who is absolutely ravenous for success with a new club. “He loves attacking football, so Arsenal fans wouldn’t be deprived of attacking football, but he would make our defence a granite-like defence.”

Like most people, Arsenal chiefs ignored what he had to say!

Klopp went on to join Liverpool, while Wenger remained at Arsenal for another two years, and the former Dortmund boss has gone on to be a huge success on Merseyside.

While Liverpool are now seven points clear at the top of the Premier League, the Gunners are fifth under Unai Emery and it looks like major work is required to get the north London club back up to title-chasing level.

Maybe Arsenal chiefs will now take more notice of Piers in future…
