We Cannot Investigate Pant Stealing'- Nigeria Police
In a new twist, the Nigeria Police Force has offered no recourse to the new spate of pant stealing. As rampant as this vice has gotten, the police force insists that they can not investigate things that are not empirically verifiable.
Reports have it that the result of pant stealing is a get rich quick syndrome steeped in some ritualistic processes. There is also the notion that the womb of the pant owner may also be compromised. But how do you prove this?
In a tweet, the Nigeria Police Force summarised its standpoint.
It reads,' Stealing of underwear for whatever reason is a recent phenomenon, before now, we had cases of ritual killings but we can't investigate things that are not empirically verifiable except when there is a convergence of the act like cases of murder or an attempt or related crimes'.
The tweet continues,'Discussions on Menace of Get-Rich-Quick syndrome & ritual practices on @NTAGMN. We don't investigate divinations or morality except related acts that constitute a criminal offence. Apart from factors of unemployment etc what we have on home videos, TV programs and messages being sent out'.
The spokesperson of the Nigeria Police Force NPF, Frank Mba, said this when he spoke on a TV programme this morning.
