1. Akara (Bean Cake)

3. Bayelsa Suya

They may be worms but a lot of people in the south-south region of Nigeria can attest to the fact that they are a delight. 

4. Snail Kebab

Who doesn't love well-seasoned snails put on a stick and within easy reach?!

5. Boli/Bole

Boli or Bole? It's all semantics. This is grilled plantain that could be eaten with a peppered sauce made from palm oil or with groundnut. What's your preference? How ripe do you like your plantain?

6. Kpokpo Garri

Mostly found in the southern region of Nigeria especially around Itsekiri, Ijaw, Isoko and Urhobo people, this could be served with groundnut or grilled fish.

Also a party favourite, puff puff is made from flour that has been deep fried. It is safe to say this is the king of finger foods in Nigeria.

This is a snack made from groundnut paste that has been spiced and it is cut into a variety of shapes.

14. Kilishi

This is marinated beef that has been cut into razor-thin slices and sun-dried. It is a spicy Northern delicacy enjoyed by almost everyone.

15. Suya

This is one delicacy that has been known to be only available at night for the most part. This could be barbecued meat, fish or chicken.
