The Independent National Electoral Commission agreed on Tuesday to schedule the supplementary governorship polls for the 28th of March which the All Progressives Congress is kicking against.
According to Kassim Gaidam, the electoral commissioner of Adamawa, this decision was based on the rulings of the High Court. The court had given INEC permission to go ahead with the supplementary polls and conclude the election like in other states.

Alhaji Ahmed Lawal, the Organising Secretary of APC announced that the party was against the decision made by INEC because they were not consulted before the new date was chosen.
According to Alhaji Ahmed Lawal, “We are not afraid of re-run election but INEC should have done the right thing.
“How can you fix an election on a working day? Are civil servants not going to participate in the election?
“We are going to forward our protest on the matter to INEC,’’ he said.
Regardless of the view of the All Progressive Congress Party, the election will go ahead on the mentioned day.
