COMEBACK KINGS Aubameyang hits double as Arsenal progress to Europa League quarter-finals

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored either side of the break as a resurgent Arsenal progressed to the quarter-finals of the Europa League with a 3-0 victory over Rennes.

Trailing 3-1 from a horror show in their last-16 first-leg tie in France, Unai Emery’s side had plenty to do in the Emirates clash and duly delivered.

It took them just five minutes to make the breakthrough with Aubameyang turned the ball home from close range after Aaron Ramsey found him with a precise delivery.

And 10 minutes later they doubled their advantage, drawing level on aggregate as a result.

This time Aubameyang – who looked to be in an offside position – was the provider as he teed up a delicious cross for Ainsley Maitland-Niles who nodded in at the back post.
