Former Eagles WR Golden Tate Will Reportedly Sign With Giants

The New York Giants were ridiculed by their fanbase after GM Dave Gettleman traded Odell Beckham Jr. to the Cleveland Browns.

The team was quick to acquire a replacement for their superstar wide receiver, agreeing to terms with one of the best available wide receivers on the market.

The Giants have reached an agreement with free agent receiver Golden Tate, who had been linked to the Steelers and Patriots. None of the talk surrounding Tate involved the Giants, but the team must have submitted a last-chance bid that caught the 30-year-old's attention.

Tate was traded to the Eagles last season after the Detroit Lions fell out of postseason contention, but he struggled to make an impact in the Eagles' offense.

In Philadelphia, Tate caught 30 receptions for 278 yards and 1 touchdown.

The veteran wide receiver's new deal is reportedly a four-year, $37.5 million deal that will see Tate make $23 million in guaranteed salary.

This is a great deal for the nine-year veteran and he will immediately step in as the No. 1 option in the Giants' pass attack, which will likely feature Eli Manning under center for one more season.
