HYPOCRISY?? Opposition Fani Kayode Backs Gbajabiamila For House Of Reps Speaker Position
In a shocking twist, former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-kayode, a staunch critic of the Buhari-led administration and ruling APC endorsed Mr. Femi Gbajabiamila, one of the ruling party’s candidate for 9th Speaker of the House of Representatives.
Fani-Kayode, declared his support for Femi Gbajabiamila for the position of House of Representative Speaker through his social media.
“I have known Femi Gbajabiamila for 40 years and I can assure you that he will make a great Speaker of the Fed. House of Representatives. We may disagree politically but I must confess that he is a profoundly good man representing a great constituency. I wish him well.” He said.
Similarly, The Director General of Gbajabiamila’s campaign organisation, Dr Abdulmumini Jibrin, has also expressed his confidence in Femi Gbajabiamila’s ambition to become speaker of the 9th house of representative, describing him as the best candidate for the position.
He stressed the need to adhere to the dictates of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) on the choice of Gbajabiamila. He said that by doing so, the mistakes of 2011 and 2015 when opposition members influenced the election of principal officers of the National Assembly would be averted.
Jibrin however, warned rivals of the bid against blackmail, promising to persuade all House members to ensure Gbajabiamila’s rise.
