The Effect of this CorunaVirus Case on Nigeria's Survival

Yesterday, the federal ministry of health announced Nigeria's first Coruna Virus Case. Ever since then, major news agencies have carried the news, leading to a huge increase in fear.

This news would bring a lot of impact on Nigeria and the entire Ecowas economy.

Economic Damage

The entire economy of Nigeria is at risk. With Lagos recording the first case, it is only a matter of days till there are more revealed cases of the virus.

Many Lagosians would be unable to go to work, school or markets. I trust the banning governor to ban all public gatherings or places indefinitely. This will truly affect the country and the way we live.

From my estimate, this virus will cost us at least $1 Billion in revenue, depending on the number of cases and the length of the threat.

Political Crisis

Nigeria's major problem is the chance of people politicising the virus. It's very likely the government would be more interested in forcing the media to not allow it look out of hand, when it might be out of hand.

It is even possible that the government would reduce the number of confirmed cases, just so that we believe it is in control

Prayers

Nigeria's most important sector is religion. Imagine pastors collecting seed from their members in other to receive healing

Some pastors will hold huge crusade themed on the virus, only to cause more spread of the virus like the one in south Korea.

We need to be more cautious and be safer. No gathering, no public stunts, no fake healing.

Summary

We need to be careful and prayerful. Corunavirus has wrecked the world economy, don't think Nigeria would be spared? We need to have a plan of how to continue transacting, without posing a huge risk to the country.

The government has to do more than just hold a patient. They should trace everyone who was on that plane and ensure that this country doesn't get destroyed because of a virus.
