Barton, who now manages Bristol Rovers, was the manager of Fleetwood at the time of the incident at Oakwell in April 2019. Stendel was left with a broken tooth after a confrontation between both managers in the tunnel. The incident happened after a League One match between Fleetwood Town and the South Yorkshire side.
According to reports from Sky Sports News, Mr. Stendel said in his testimony that he was walking down the tunnel, he was knocked down by Mr. Barton in the corner of Barnsley's Oakwell Stadium after his side's 4-2 victory. The push left him injured, causing him to hit his face on a metal structure.
The video evidence that was presented to the court only showed Mr. Stendel entering the tunnel followed by Barton, who was seen jogging moments later.
