The manager of Manchester United, Erik Ten Hag has spoken about the red-card situation of Casemiro.
The Dutchman was speaking at a pre-match press conference ahead of the Premier League game against Leeds United at Old Trafford. Ten Hag was asked whether the club had considered attempting to get the ban overturned.
He said the decision to send off the Brazilian in the game against Crystal Palace was not right.
Consider? Yeah,” Erik admitted, before explaining why an appeal had not been launched. Still, for me, it's not the right decision [to send Casemiro off] but I don't think we have a chance in a legal process.
The midfielder was shown a straight red card for violent conduct in the game against Palace. He is expected to return in the Carabao Cup final against Newcastle United. The suspension does not affect Casemiro's ability to play in the Europa League play-off first leg in Barcelona, next Thursday (16 February).
