With the rumour mills intensifying talks of Barcelona moving to resign Neymar, former Barcelona boss, Louis Van Gaal, has handed the Catalan giants against making such move.
Van Gaal in his warning described Neymar as ‘too individualistic’, stating that he is not the kind of player Barcelona needs.
The Dutch boss won two La Liga titles among four major trophies whilst in charge of the Blaugrana is very much against the club resigning the Brazilian, who left for Paris Saint-Germaine in a world record €222m deal last year.
“This is only my opinion, but I do not believe signing Neymar would be good for Barcelona,” Van Gaal told La Porteria de Beteve, as cited by Diario AS.
“He is too individualistic, I do not believe his qualities would benefit Barcelona and they should think a lot before attempting to re-sign him.”
Barcelona, whom Neymar left in a world record €222m deal last summer, are said to have already made initial contact while Real Madrid have also been heavily linked with a move.
PSG’s need to comply with UEFA’s Financial Fair Play regulations is said to have forced their hand to consider selling their star attacker.
Last week, former Barca captain Xavi Hernandez admitted he thought there was ‘no chance’ of the Brazilian return to the Camp Nou.
