Bears Twitter Trolls 49ers After Dirty Hit on Mitchell Trubisky
The Chicago Bears Twitter account was not happy after Mitchell Trubisky got crushed on a dirty late hit. The Bears' second-year quarterback was sliding to a halt when San Francisco 49ers' safety Marcell Harris blew him up, and then all hell broke loose.
As a result of the play, Bears wideouts Josh Bellamy and Anthony Miller were ejected, along with 49ers cornerback Richard Sherman. An offsetting offensive holding call led to the pivotal third down being replayed.
The Bears came up short on third down but went for it on fourth down; successfully converting a quarterback sneak, which led to the Bears unleashing this simple but savage tweet.
The Bears had a chance to close out the game later on the drive but an Allen Robinson fumble gave the 49ers one last chance. Fortunately for the Bears, the stellar Chicago defense held up and stopped the 49ers' late push.
With the win, the Bearsimproved to 11-4 and stayed alive in the bid for a first-round bye. The win also makes head coach Matt Nagy the most successful first-year head coach in Bears history, passing legend George Halas for the most wins in a coach's first year.
In other news, the Bears social media team continues to pile up Ws too.
