Nick Foles Earns NFC Offensive Player of the Week Honors After Vital Win

The Eagles playoff hopes were kept alive in Week 16 on the back of some holiday magic from none other than Nick Foles. The backup quarterback was sensational with Carson Wentz sidelined with an injury, and he led the Eagles to a 32-30 win over the Texans in what was a must-win game for Philadelphia.

His performance in Week 16 saw him earn NFC Offensive Player of the Week honors, and has also boosted the Eagles' confidence as they head into another crucial game in Week 17 against the Redskins.

Once again, Foles managed to put the team on his back when it mattered most. He completed 35 passes for 471 yards and four touchdowns while throwing just one interception against a strong Texans defense.

The win improved the Eagles record to 8-7 and slotted them in second place in the NFC East. While the division title is out of reach, Philadelphia will be hoping to sneak into the final Wild Card spot.

Foles has logged four starts for the Eagles this season as Wentz has dealt with lingering injuries. The 29-year-old has led the team to a 3-1 record when he plays and has thrown for five touchdowns on the season to three interceptions.

After leading the Eagles to a Super Bowl LII win, Foles is once again proving his worth to this organization, stepping in when it matters most for the team.
