Sarri Lines Up Barcelona Star As Replacement For Serie A Bound Fabregas
Maurizio Sarri wants to bring in Barcelona star Denis Suarez to replace AC Milan transfer target Cesc Fabregas, according to reports.
The Chelsea boss is prepared to let the World Cup winner leave Stamford Bridge after four years with the club.
The signings of Jorginho, Ross Barkley and N’Golo Kante in the past few years have seen Fabregas downgraded from regular starter to the occasional Europa League start.
And now, it appears he is on the brink of a move to AC Milan, with sporting director Leonardo confirming the Serie A side’s interest in a potential £11million deal.
According to the Daily Mirror, Sarri wants to replace the 31-year-old with Barcelona starlet Denis Suarez.
The former Manchester City youngster would cost the Blues around £15million.
Having made just one substitute appearance in LaLiga this season, the chance to challenge for regular game time would certainly be appealing.
Barca allowed the creative midfielder to join Villarreal in 2015 on a permanent deal, before exercising their buy-back clause in his contract the following summer.
