RACISM!! Teacher Suspended Over Disturbing Photo Depicting Bias Towards Black Pupils (PHOTOS)

A nursery school teacher in South Africa's North West has been suspended on account of her alleged racist disposition towards black pupils in her class, the Education Department has said.

This follows a photo of pupils' sitting arrangement in which she allocated white pupils' seat away from their  black classmates in a manner  many black parents consider shows white supremacy.

Black residents said they have been complaining about racism at the school for over a decade.

“I remember in 2008, we left township schools at that time and protested at this school because we wanted this [racial segregation] to end as this is also a government school,” one resident said.

It was gathered that parents of white pupils rushed into the school to withdraw their children to avoid droves of angry black parents and rights activists that thronged the premises Thursday.

Parents of the white pupils counter the claim that the teacher had discriminated against black pupils, saying of all about the ten schools in the vicinity, the school in question has the highest rate of white pupils which might explain the class arrangement.

“If you are not happy here, take your child to another school, nobody is forcing you. Now they want to make this as if it's racism. Everyone just wants to make white people racists. We are not racists, we just want what was best for our children,” said one of the parents.

Another parent said: "This is the only white-dominated school in this town. There are over 10 schools at the township. If they are not happy, let them take their children there.”

Nonetheless, the North West Education Department said the school's principal has been placed under investigation to ascertain if there have been other cases of racism.
