Eight months after Onochie was nominated by President Buhari, the senate president asked the committee on INEC to commence the screening process.

Ene Obi, convener of Nigeria Civil Society Situation Room, spoke against Onochie’s nomination, saying she is a strong member of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and her nomination will jeopardize the integrity of our electoral process.
